Oscar winning actress, Sandra Bullock, after living separately from her husband, Jesse James, finally files for divorce. The underlying fact behind this act is the conflict of personalities which makes survival difficult.

Yess, you have guessed it right! The hype created by the media over their marriage is not over but have been transferred to another edge of cricket. It is not Muhammad Asif and Veena Malik, but it is Shoaib Akhtar and Dia Mirza. Shocking, eh?

There was a rumor about the marriage of Pakistani fast bowler, Shoaib Malik with Indian actress/ Model Dia Mirza, which certainly made this pretty girl very angry.

What is our cricket team upto? Or is it the media or the common man? Who is to be blamed?

An Illuminated Country- Is it more developed?

There was a recent research done on determining the economy of a country by the extent of its illumination, which created doubts.

I read this news in a recent newspaper which interested me as to how can the lights present in a country be related to its GDP growth rate. If this would have been the case, then Pakistan’s economy would be zero up till now.



The basic idea behind the number of lights and GDP was the underlying fact, that more a country is developed; it would have more roads and obviously more light at night. Hence this gives a hint about its development. Then what about countries who are famous for the electricity load shedding?

However, the data collected on this idea by the World Bank, did not yield accurate information.

It was a series of exciting events where betting added a charm to this thriller. And no doubt i was one of the lucky ones to win these bets!

The final results were a good news for many whereas the rest were not really satisfied as their favourite bollywood stars weren't successful. Throughout this third season, we came across several gossips where the bollywood stars were in light. They were seen partying and cheering to such an extent, that Priety zinta was seen to visit Haridwar to pray for the success of her team; Kings XI Punjab.








Unfortunately, the trophy couldn't br brought home by any of the bollywood stars and Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa shetty and Preity Zinta long with many others had to face sorrow. Indeed, a game is all about winning and losing!

Our problems,,

Since a very long time, Pakistan is facing the problem of electricity shortage, due to which the masses are in serious trouble. Lucky are those who have generators and UPS, which saves us from the buring temperature, but is it a permenant solution? Obviously No!


I recently got a message from a friend who is a close relative to a person in the government, recongzing the faults of the rulers himself. He was of the opinion, that China and Iran are ready to supply electricity to Pakistan at cheap rates, then why isn't Pakistan ready to accept the offer? Why does Pakistan beg before the great superpowers who simply exploit us?


And now we come across another problem. The loadshedding of Gas! I look at my Gas bill which is of no comparison to the 4 digit and sometimes 5 digit electricity bill?
However, the SNGPL announces one day per week gas loadshedding in Pakistan, especially Lahore and Pakhtunkhwa.


Shall we expect some more surprizes from our rulers?

And miracles do happen..

We have come across several unique medical cases which have turned out to be very successful. Whether it is treating a cancer patient or dealing with a heart transplant, we have seen people fighting with their lives and ultimately winning the battle. Indeed God helps us.

Pakistan’s former cricket captain Shoaib Malik, will be marrying an Indian tennis player, Sania Mirza, within few days. As soon as this news was confirmed and disclosed, it attracted great attention. The general public was happy by this announcement, seeing it a positive step towards ending the long rivalry between the two neighboring countries; Pakistan and India. However, the hot icon, Sania Mirza, says that she would rather prefer some privacy when it comes to her private life. It has been informed that the couple has bought a house in Dubai. Therefore, where ever they live, our prayers are with them!

Recently, the Moscow’s subway system was attacked by two female suicide bombers. The attack was done on early Monday morning, resulting in the death of approximately 37 people.

Maybe this news would be relieving for many, since now they are clear that it is not only their country, Pakistan, which is subjected to such terrorism, but even other countries are at risk. Moreover, emphasizing on the underlying fact that it was accomplished by females, it would definitely result in some terror for their male counterparts!

To Karachi with Love!

Terrorism, violence, bloodshed is all what have surrounded our beloved country, Pakistan. It is time to change everything. As an individual, we cannot bring a revolution, but collectively we can definitely accomplish great things. One such step was taken by the D.U.C.K (Designers United for a Cause – Karachi) and Rebuild-Rebound, the Non Profit organizations established by the alumni of the Indus Valley, who brought the visual artists, photographs, paintings and designs together, for a cause.

An event was hence organized at the T2F, from 2nd March 2010 to 17th March 201, entitled as ‘To Karachi with Love’. It was a step to remember the great lives which were lost during the Ashura bombings in Karachi. The fund generated was supposed to be used in the rebuilding of the shops and markets which were destroyed at that time.

Karachi Champions League proved successful in providing a platform for the upcoming cricketers for the Pakistan Cricket team. The final match took place between the Airport Gymkhana and the Defence Club on 24th February, 2010, at RLCA (Korangi), a recently inaugurated stadium in the city.

With the efforts of the City Nazim, Mustafa Kamal, the League achieved its target. The winning team, the Airport Gym, was awarded an amount of Rs.10 million and the man of the match title was given to the most deserving player, Mr. Khalid Latif, of the Airport Gym. He was successful in making a century in just 56 balls, helping his team win the award.

Interestingly, one of his sixes damaged the windscreen of a white corolla parked on the road, which gathered a huge crowd. At that occasion, the commentator proudly said, ’’ this is what happens when you park your car in the wrong lane, ’’ making me wonder as to what would be his reaction if he would have found that it was his car which was damaged or ’’injured’’ as said in the common cricket terminology!

Provincial Disaster Risk Management Plan- Launch

The Launch Ceremony of Provincial Disaster Risk Management Plan for Sindh was held on August 12, 2009, in Karachi, at a local hotel.
Senior Member Board of Revenue Mr. Ghulam Ali Pasha expressed his views on this auspicious occasion by showing his optimism to the plan. According to him, this disaster prevention frame work will help save many lives and will safeguard the infrastructure against the approaching disasters. Furthermore, he said that the plan pictures how to manage an emergency response in an efficient manner. In addition, he pointed out the underlying fact that it was the Sindh Revenue Department which helped develop the Provincial Disaster Management Authority into a smart organization to achieve its goals. He acknowledged the Sindh Chief Minister, also recognized as the chairman of Provincial Disaster Management Committee, and the Minister Revenue Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar, who congratulated the officers of Board of Revenue and of Provincial Disaster Management Authority for their achievement and efforts that gave the Sindh Province the honor and ability to launch such a project. In addition, the efforts of UNDP, NDMA were also appreciated by Mr. Shaukat Nawaz Tahir, a Senior Member National Disaster Management Authority. Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Abro made a presentation of the plan and stated that an action plan has also been made and further this project is first of its kind in Pakistan. There were several other speakers present on the occasion including the D.G. Provincial Management Authority, Mr. Muhammad Sualeh Ahmed Farooqui, and Mr. Tariq Rafique National, Project Manager Disaster Risk Management.
The launch was well attended amongst other by officials of Board of Revenue DCO’s of Thatta and Umerkot, and by secretaries of various departments.

When people unite under the same flag of one country, they are supposed to be the epitome of true citizens and perfect cricketers. But how often have we experienced such an ideal situation?

ANSWER: Very rare!

Previously it was Asif and Shoaib Akhtar who were in the limelight, today it is Shoaib Malik and Yousuf who are fighting over the captaincy issue, Akmal’s media appearance without permission, Afridi’s incident of ball tampering and the clashes between the senior and the young players. These are among the few top happenings which are associated with Pakistan’s cricket team today.

RESULT: Defeat!

We lost against the Australians, we missed around 30 catches, our players are constantly being fined and the top positions are resigning- is this what we expect from our team?

ANSWER: Wait for the upcoming PAKISTAN versus ENGLAND cricket series!

Our Security is at Risk..

It is not only the bomb blasts and the target killing which is crumpling the nation, there is a long list of crimes which is making our lives difficult.

A four year old girl was kidnapped recently. This is what people do for the greed of money. Fortunately, she was recovered from the Khyber agency. On inquiry, the police came to know that it was one of her relatives, who was involved in this criminal activity. Ultimately the father of the child awarded a good sum to the police officials.

It is the lust of money and power which results in the decline of great empires. We saw it during the time of Holy Prophet PBUH. We remember what happened during the British Raj, and we are still experiencing it today..

Karachi Blasts- A message for all!

As the news ticker flashed on the TV screens, there were a number of telephone calls and text messages having the same question; 'Are you oksy?'

On 5th February,2010, two blasts occured in Karachi. (Maybe the next year this date would be more remebered because of the blasts, as compared to its association with Kashmir day). A motorcycle hit a bus of mourners, and another blast took place in the Jinaah hospital. This not only left the Shia Muslims in terror, but the whole nation was a subject to violence. After analysing the situation persisting in Karachi, I suppose such a news is pretty usual for us. However, the bang and the sirens which i heard the other day, had a special message for me.

Life is so unpredictable. At one moment you are laughing, and the other you are being carried on the shoulders of four strangers. Whenever people die, i feel the pain. It is not only the matter as to how will their families survive, but it makes me realize as to what am i doin with my life. Do i have enough of those good deeds which will save me from the fire of hell? Did i fulfill that purpose for which i was created. Although such questions eat me inside, yet unfortunately the glamour of this temporary world overpowers such thoughts. Verily, this weakness will make me suffer in the end!
